This is specifically for our customers' vpn DNS records. Most of our customers have 2 network circuits. We have setup a vpn A record that points to a the primary circuit and a vpn2 A record that points to the secondary circuit.

Instead of that solution. we are looking for a way to change IPs on the vpn record dynamically or failover the vpn record's IP to the active circuit in case one of the circuits experiences an outage.

Which service, DNS Failover or Dynamic DNS service that you offer best meets that situation and can do that seamlessly and automatically?

You can use a combination of dynamic DNS and System Monitoring and DNS failover service.

You can sign the domain names up for dynamic DNS and host the DNS with us so we can take
failover action.

You can set up a monitor to ping the primary network circuit and set up failover action to
change A record of the domain to the secondary circuit when the ping to the primary
circuit fails. And when the monitor comes back up, the domain can be switched back to the
primary IP.

You will likely need account membership for $9.99/year at
https://www.dynu.com/en-US/Membership which allows you to host up to 200 domains and
have up to 200 DNS records for each domain. The monitoring service provides 14-day trial
and then costs $9.99/year for 5 monitors.

You can sign up for your domain and please feel free to reply to this ticket if you need
any assistance with the setup.
